- Because He will fight on your behalf
- If anyone will fight for you, let it be some One who has never lost a battle. He is called the mighty man in battle
- Children of Israel at the red sea
-
- Jehosaphat
-
- 2Ch 20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
-
2Ch 20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 2Ch 20:18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. 2Ch 20:19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high. 2Ch 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2Ch 20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
- 2Ch 20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 2Ch 20:23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 2Ch 20:24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
- Gideon and his 300 men
-
- Jdg 7:20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon. Jdg 7:21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. Jdg 7:22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.
- Prayer: Father, because I am Your child and You are my God, fight my battles for me in Jesus name.
- Because He will counsel you
- Counsel is getting wisdom from those more knowledgeable than you in a certain area.
- For example, you would not go to the meat market and ask for counsel about your car. You would go to the mechanic.
- The God that we serve, He is called the “Counsellor” in Is. 9:6. All wisdom is with Him. There is no subject matter that He is not an expert.
- All the scientific breakthrough that man is boasting of, God already knew them before man was formed.
- Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
- Psa 16:7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
- Prayer: Father, in all my ways, I need Your counsel, counsel me in Jesus name.
- Because He will guide you
- Guidance is similar to counsel. You would ask the Lord for direction in situations, and He will direct you to the path that He wants you to take.
- If one obeys His direction, all shall be well. If one disobeys, one would surely suffer the consequences.
- Isa 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
- David always ask God for guidance and counsel before going into battle
-
- In 2 Samuel 5, when the Philistines came against David, the Lord told him to go and fight against them.
- 2Sa 5:19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
- The second time, David did not assume that he could just go. He went back and asked God for counsel and direction.
- This time, the Lord told David not to go, and He gave David a different battle plan.
- 2Sa 5:23 And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. 2Sa 5:24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. 2Sa 5:25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
- Prayer: Father, because You are my God, guide me in all my ways in the name of Jesus.

- Dan 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. Dan 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
- After they were thrown in the fire, the presence of God was there to deliver them.
- Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
