Title: If God Be For Us – II

Text: Rom 8: 28-32

[Rom 8:28] And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

[Rom 8:29] For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

[Rom 8:30] Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

[Rom 8:31] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

[Rom 8:32] He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Introduction

All things work together for good (including the good, the bad, and the ugly)
To those who love God
To those who are the called according to the purpose of God
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son (Jesus Christ)
That Jesus might be the firstborn among us
Those that He predestined, He also called
Those that He called, He also justified
Those that He justified, He also glorified

What shall we say to all these things?
If God be us, who can be against us?

- If God gave up the most valuable Person to Him, in the person of His own Son, for our sake, how shall He not with Jesus freely give us all things?
- That tells me that we have hope..
  - My hope is built on nothing less
  - Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
  - I dare not trust the sweetest frame
  - But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

- On Christ the solid Rock I stand
- All other ground is sinking sand
- All other ground is sinking sand
In these days that there is a pandemic out in the world, our hope is built on nothing else than the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ.

If God be for us, what are the results of His alliance in our lives?

1. If God be for us, our impossibilities becomes possible

2. If God be for us, our victory is guaranteed, no matter the battle

3. If God be for us, our healing becomes children’s bread

[Act 10:38] how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
[Psa 107:20] He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
[Exo 23:25] “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. [Exo 23:26] No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
[Mat 8:14] Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. [Mat 8:15] So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. [Mat 8:16] When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, [Mat 8:17] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND BORE OUR SICKNESSES.”
If God be for us, our healing becomes children’s bread because Jesus heals all

4. If God be for us, our failures becomes forgotten history

God has never failed, therefore we cannot fail
Peter – Luke 5:3-7
- [Luk 5:3] Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
- [Luk 5:4] When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
- [Luk 5:5] But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
- [Luk 5:6] And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
- [Luk 5:7] So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

6. If God be for us, we shall overcome the challenges of life

If God be for us, we shall overcome the challenges of life

7. If God be for us, no plague or pestilence will come near you

[Exo 12:13] Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
[Exo 15:26] and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”
If God be for us, no plague or pestilence will come near you

How can God be for us?

[Psa 42:1] As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.
[Psa 42:2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
[Psa 84:2] My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

1. Wholeheartedly surrender your life to Jesus. No more half baked Christianity

[Luk 9:57] Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.”
[Luk 9:58] And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
[Luk 9:59] Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
[Luk 9:60] Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.”
[Luk 9:61] And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.”
[Luk 9:62] But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

2. Draw nearer to God by studying His Word and praying regularly

[Jas 4:8] Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

3. Obey His Word

[Joh 14:15] “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
