Text: Ex. 7:16
[Exo 7:16] And you shall say to him, ‘The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, “Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness”; but indeed, until now you would not hear!
Introduction
- The children of Israel became slaves in Egypt many generations after Joseph had died
- The new Pharaoh did not know Joseph or what he had done in the land
- After 430 years of being in the land of Egypt, it was time to be free
- Today, it is your time to be free
Main Topic
1. My People => God’s People – 2 Chr. 7:14
-
[2Ch 7:14] if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
-
To be part of God’s people, you must belong to God’s family
-
To be part of God’s family, you must come under the umbrella of the only saving name
-
[Act 4:12] Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
-
That saving name is Jesus Christ
-
You were either born as a Jew or as a Gentile. Either way, the acceptance of the name of Jesus makes you to be God’s people.
2. Let God’s People Go
-
When the Lord said “Let My people go”, the statement only applies to His people
-
Any other person can be held captive, but those that are God’s people must be let go
-
The purpose of being let go is to serve the Lord
-
Anything that prevents God’s people from serving Him must let go
-
Sicknesses and diseases must let go
-
Pain and suffering must let go
-
Lack and poverty must let go
-
Bondage and limitations must let go
-
Failure and disappointments must let go
-
Demonic oppressions and attacks must let go
-
Fruitlessness and laboring in vain must let go
-
Unfulfilled promises must let go
-
Mourning must let go
-
Slavery must let go
-
Addictions must let go
3. They will not let go willingly or easily
-
It took 10 mighty acts of God in the land of Egypt for Pharaoh to let go
-
After that, Pharaoh and his army still pursued them into the red sea, until they met with destruction
-
You must be persistent until you receive your victory. Moses did not give up, neither must you
-
[Exo 14:13] And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
-
[Exo 14:14] The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
-
The only language they understand is violence, so you must be violent in your prayers
Conclusion
- In order for you to demand to be let go, you must be God’s people
- To be God’s people, Jesus Christ must be your Lord and Savior
- Then and only then can you command your release by the authority in the name of JESUS CHRIST
