Title: The Unmovable Kingdom
Text: Heb 12:28-29
[Heb 12:28] Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
[Heb 12:29] For our God is a consuming fire.
Introduction
-
The kingdom we are receiving is a kingdom that cannot be moved, it is firm, stable, and cannot be shaken
-
It will remain and it will not fail – nothing can change the fact that the Kingdom of God is coming
-
We are receiving the kingdom by grace, it is not by any work
-
However, we are required to serve God with reverence and godly fear
Main Topic
The Kingdom you shall receive
-
The whole purpose of man is directly or indirectly attached to entering the kingdom of God
-
That was the reason Jesus had to break it down for Nicodemus:
-
[Joh 3:3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
-
[Joh 3:5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
-
You must always think of the kingdom of God – have it in the back of your mind in addition to your daily routines
-
We are passing through this world, it is not our destination, don’t make it your destination
-
Remember Demas? Don’t be like him
-
[2Ti 4:10] For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
-
We are commanded to not love the world
-
The love of the world will take away the love of the Father
-
Without the love of the Father, one will not think about His kingdom and therefore will not make the kingdom
-
Whatever you go through in this present world, whether good or bad, cannot be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us
-
It is easy to lose focus of heaven with everyday hustle and bustle of life, but you must keep heaven as your target and never allow anything, whether it is success or it is failure or it is challenges or it is trials, take your focus away from heaven.
-
Be determined to make heaven
-
Heaven is too precious to lose
The Kingdom is Received by Grace
-
How you receive the kingdom is by grace
-
Grace means unmerited, unwarranted, free of charge favor of God
-
We did not do anything to deserve His grace to receive salvation
-
However, to keep your salvation, you must hold on to it. Tit. 2:11-14, Phil 2:12
-
[Tit 2:11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
-
[Tit 2:12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
-
[Tit 2:13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
-
[Tit 2:14] Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
-
[Php 2:12] Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Serving God with Reverence and godly fear is needed to keep the Kingdom
-
[Heb 12:28] Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
-
Serving God in any capacity is a requirement for every believer
-
You are not restricted to only worship God
-
You are also required to serve.
-
It is wonderful to worship God
-
It is better when you add service to your worship
-
It is your responsibility to find something to do to serve God
-
Whatever you decide to do, do it well, it is unto God
-
However, your service must be with reverence – treat God with deep respect
-
The way you treat the things of God will show whether you have reverence for Him or not
-
How do you treat a God you cannot see with respect? I’ll give you some examples:
-
When you come to worship Him, come with the right attitude, be on time, participate in worship
-
When you give an offering to God, bring the offering with respect
-
Create time for God daily in reading His Word and in prayer
-
Your service must also be with godly fear
