Title: The Way
Text: John 14:1-11
[Joh 14:1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[Joh 14:2] In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[Joh 14:3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[Joh 14:4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[Joh 14:5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
[Joh 14:6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[Joh 14:7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
[Joh 14:8] Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
[Joh 14:9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then,Shew us the Father?
[Joh 14:10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
[Joh 14:11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

Main Topic
1 Cor. 15:20-23
[1Co 15:20] But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
[1Co 15:21] For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
[1Co 15:22] For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
[1Co 15:23] But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
The way to earth
-
[Gen 1:28] And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
- Adam received the mandate to replenish the earth, to fill the earth. As a result, all men came through Adam to the earth
- Any person that did not come through Adam is illegally here on earth, such as demons. So the term “illegal aliens” should be reserved for demons, not human beings.
- Through Adam also came sin and death. 1 Cor. 15:22 – as in Adam all die.
- Adam was chosen to populate the man’s kingdom, but he gave it up by sin
- Through Adam we have physical life that leads to death
- Adam was the way to earth
-
However, since sin entered the picture, death entered the picture, that is why Rom. 3:23 says [Rom 3:23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- God in His infinite mercy had to make a Way to redeem man from sin back to Himself
- The bloodline of man has been tainted with sin, so man could not redeem man
- God could not come by Himself, it would have been illegal, since all person must come to earth through Adam
- God had to come through man in the person of Jesus Christ
The way to heaven
-
[Joh 14:6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
- All men must go through Jesus Christ to make it to heaven
- Through Adam we have sin and death, but through Jesus we have righteousness and life
- Adam was chosen to populate the kingdom of man, Jesus came to populate the Kingdom of God
- Any person that will not go through Jesus will not make it to heaven. There will be no illegal alien there
- Through Jesus we have spiritual life that leads to eternal life
- John 10:7-11
-
[Joh 10:7] Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
-
[Joh 10:8] All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
-
[Joh 10:9] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
-
[Joh 10:10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
-
[Joh 10:11] I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
- John 11:25-26
-
[Joh 11:25] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
-
[Joh 11:26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Any other way is the way to hell
- Since Jesus is the Way, is it possible that others could be the way?
- Others could be the way provided they meet the following criteria:
- The Way must be born of God and man – only Jesus – as He was conceived by the Holy Spirit with a virgin called Mary. This fact alone disqualifies all others, and they will try to refute it because they lack understanding.
- The Way must live a sinless life – only Jesus – He lived among us and committed no sin whatsoever throughout His 33 years on earth
-
Every man that is of the lineage of Adam is full of sin by default – [Job 25:4] How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
-
[Rom 3:23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
- The Way must have seen our destination – only Jesus – it takes someone that has been to a destination to show you the way
-
[Joh 14:2] In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were notso, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
-
[Joh 14:3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
- Unless any other way can meet these criteria, they are false, and they are not the way
- Any other way will lead to eternal hell fire
- Matt. 7:13-14
-
[Mat 7:13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
-
[Mat 7:14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Conclusion
- The purpose of Adam was to replenish the earth, and he fulfilled that purpose. However, because of disobedience sin and death entered the picture.
- The purpose of Jesus is to fill the Kingdom of God with His children and He shall fulfill that purpose. He came to take away sin and death that Adam brought upon us.
- So, this Jesus is the ONLY WAY to make it to the Kingdom of God. Any other way is a lie from the pit of hell.
- Since there is life after death, but that life will be in eternal hell fire or eternal with God
- To make hell is easy, do nothing
- If you are determined to make heaven, you will surrender your life to Jesus.
- Only those that have surrendered their life to Jesus and maintain a proper relationship with Him will make heaven
