His Peace

His Peace
Title: His Peace
Text: Is. 9:6-7, Mark 4:35-41
[Isa 9:6]  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
[Isa 9:7]  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
[Mar 4:35]  And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
[Mar 4:36]  And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
[Mar 4:37]  And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
[Mar 4:38]  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
[Mar 4:39]  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
[Mar 4:40]  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
[Mar 4:41]  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
  • When the storms of life arise against you, call on the Prince of Peace to calm the storm
  • When life throws all that she has at you, call on the Prince of Peace to settle it
  • When fear comes on you as if there there are no way out, call on the Prince of Peace to uproot the fear
  • What we just read in Mark 4, is a classic example of what can happen in life to a child of God
  • When they decided to go by boat to the other side, there was no storm
  • When they boarded the boat at the shore, there was no storm
  • When they left the shore, there was no storm
  • The moment they got into the middle of the journey, there arose a great storm of wind
  • May the Prince of Peace calm every storm of our lives in Jesus name

    • [Mat 6:29]  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
    • [Mat 6:30]  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

    • [Mat 6:34]  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

    • Did we push Jesus to hinder (back) part of our lives?

    • Since Jesus was in the hinder part, He was sleeping comfortably on a pillow, while a storm was ravaging.
    • Is Jesus asleep in your life? On a pillow? [Psa 121:4]  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
    • Since Jesus was asleep, it is because they put Him to sleep by making Him an inactive passenger on the boat
