His Peace

His Peace
Title: His Peace
Text: Is. 9:6-7, Mark 4:35-41

[Isa 9:6]  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
[Isa 9:7]  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

[Mar 4:35]  And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
[Mar 4:36]  And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
[Mar 4:37]  And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
[Mar 4:38]  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
[Mar 4:39]  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
[Mar 4:40]  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
[Mar 4:41]  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

    • [Mat 6:26]  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
    • [Mat 6:27]  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
    • [Mat 6:28]  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
    • [Mat 6:29]  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
    • [Mat 6:30]  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
    • [Mat 6:31]  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
    • [Mat 6:32]  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
    • [Mat 6:33]  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
    • [Mat 6:34]  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
  • His peace is the antidote to fearful hearts – Matt. 10:26-33
    • [Mat 10:26]  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

    • [Mat 10:31]  Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
    • [Mat 10:32]  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
    • [Mat 10:33]  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Mark 4:35-41
  • They were all children of God in the boat and they had Jesus in the boat
  • Having God in your boat does not mean storms of life will not arise
  • Jesus was in the hinder (back) part of the boat
    • Where is Jesus in your life?  In the front or in the back?
    • Should Jesus not be in the drivers seat of our lives? Or
    • Did we push Jesus to hinder (back) part of our lives?
  • Jesus was asleep
    • Since Jesus was in the hinder part, He was sleeping comfortably on a pillow, while a storm was ravaging.
    • Is Jesus asleep in your life? On a pillow? [Psa 121:4]  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
    • Since Jesus was asleep, it is because they put Him to sleep by making Him an inactive passenger on the boat
  • When Jesus said, “Let us go to the other side”.  Did He or did He not know there will be a storm?
  • Never allow Jesus to fall asleep in your situation
  • Make Him the Master in the front and center of the situation
  • Master, carest thou not that we perish?
    • This was an accusation against the Prince of Peace
    • Never accuse Him of not caring, no matter the storm you are passing through
    • Always hold on to His promises and you shall not fail
