Title: When God Favors Man
Text: Ps. 102:13
[Psa 102:13]  Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
 
Introduction
  • Favor is the tangible evidence that a man has the approval of the Lord
  • Favor is being preferred above others in all things
  • One minute of favor can wipe away 40 years of struggle
  • Favor will open doors that did not exist (USC story)
  • Where others have failed, a favored man will succeed
  • Where others are being rejected, a favored man is being accepted
  • A favored man is a blessed man
  • Favor is the difference between open heavens and closed heavens
  • Favor is not partiality.  God is not partial, but God can provide favor 
  • We can position ourselves to be recipients of the favor of God
    • Abraham was favored
    • Isaac was favored
    • Jacob was definitely favored
    • Joseph was favored
    • David was favored
    • Solomon was favored
    • Esther was favored
    • Mordecai was favored

How to obtain the favor of God
  1. Love God and demonstrate it – David
  2. Love people and demonstrate it – Paul the Apostle
  3. Hate what God hates – Joseph
  4. Give gifts and offerings – Abel
  5. Be faithful – Joseph
  6. Be righteous and blameless – Joseph
    1. [Psa 5:12]  For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
  7. Be submissive – Esther
  8. Be humble – Moses
  9. Be wise – get wisdom
 
Conclusion
A few Scriptures on favor
  • [Pro 8:35]  For whoso findeth me [wisdom] findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
